Weeknight Golden Mushroom Baked Chicken

Bring back memories of old fashioned cooking with this deliciously satisfying one dish chicken bake.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 1-2 cans Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup depending on how much sauce you want
  • 1/4 cup water mixed in each soup can you use
  • 1-2 8 ounce packs sliced baby bella mushrooms
  • kosher salt
  • pepper
  • French's crispy fried onions desired amount

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Place chicken in a glass casserole dish.
  3. Add mushrooms around the chicken.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour can of soup over the chicken and mushrooms.
  6. Add the water.
  7. Stir gently to combine.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 50 minutes. The sauce should be bubbling.

  9. Remove from oven and sprinkle desired amount of crispy fried onions over the top of chicken.
  10. Bake uncovered for 10-15 additional minutes or until the fried onions are a golden brown.

Recipe Notes

Adjust cook time according to the size of your chicken breasts.

If more sauce is desired, try adding another can of soup.
Serve with brown rice, egg noodles, or a baked potato.
