Fun and Festive Christmas Cookie Essentials to Brighten Your Kitchen

This week I’m attending my girlfriend’s annual Cookie Exchange Party. It is a fun evening with friends that includes sipping on wine and munching on appetizers. It also includes a lot of chit-chatting, ooing and awing, and admittedly giggling about more cookies than you can imagine sprawled across multiple tables.I’ve said it before, but baking is not quite my thing. I have relied on this simple and scrumptious recipe for Quick and Easy Cranberry Pistachio Cookies time and time again, but this year, I want to get out of my comfort zone and try something new.Christmas spirit, no problem! It’s the preciseness and measuring of baking. The flour dusted and sugar sprinkled counters. The waiting and decision making on when to remove the cookie from the oven to get the warmest bite. And the perfect looking cookie that when flipped over, says otherwise. I just don’t enjoy baking like I do cooking.

I think I need a little cookie baking attitude adjustment so, I got to thinking…

Perhaps my problem with baking has to do with the tools in my kitchen. Maybe my kitchen essentials need a burst of holly jolly Christmas spirit. Could ‘t hurt.
