Our family room is our kids’ cave. The only time I spend in this room is to clean it or to watch a game or movie on the weekend. Otherwise, I probably avoid the room because the space drives me a little cuckoo.
In this room there lives an oversized hot pink Barbie house, baskets of forgotten toys, scattered socks, itty bitty pieces of junk left on any surface available, one too many remote controls, and pillows dropped on the floor.
There also lives our new pup, Griffin, who turns into a complete and utter maniac when he’s in this room. He can’t control himself. There are way too many things to explore and objects to grab. And to top it off, it’s where he has discovered that our couch is the perfect spot to walk across and then curl up in after he’s finally worn himself out, even though we keep insisting he get off of it.I give up, though.
He wants on that couch, then have at it, Griffin.
It’s all about compromise so before he settles in, I’m putting a pet sofa protector to the test.
This quilted microfiber suede couch cover is saving some of my sanity. Thankfully, it comes in a color that not only matches my couch, but disguises the color of Griffin’s hair.
It has straps and tabs that are supposed to keep it in place without too much shifting.
The tabs keep the base of the cover in position, however the back of the cover does not keep its shape when Griffin moves around. It will be necessary to attach the long strap around the back if I want it to stay.
It can easily be removed for company or when it needs to be cleaned. It is ideal that I can pop this cover right in the washing machine.
It’s been holding up to Griffin and the kids so far and protecting the seat of the couch from his dirty paws and sharp nails. The rest of the room though, is still a disaster…
My carpets are protected from Griffin’s muddy paws too. Read about my 5 Puppy Must-Haves.
Do you let your dog up on the couch? Want to try this sofa protector for yourself?
